Maybe things would be better if I bought a houseboat.

I’ve never been on a houseboat. I think I could live on one.

The planet is getting warmer. Water is going to be everywhere, right? A houseboat isn’t a solution but maybe it’s a good workaround? A workaround for what, I’m not sure.

I’m not sure if I get sea sick. I haven’t really been on the sea. In the sea? On top of the sea?

Look at this house boat!

What if I rehab a dilapidated boat? I’m too tired to assemble IKEA furniture after work but maybe if the building was on a boat I’d have more energy?

How much are dock fees? Are they called dock fees?

Do I know anyone that’s been on a houseboat? There’s no way I know someone that owns a houseboat. I feel like that would have come up in conversation.

Is there a tiny house version of a houseboat? That video makes me think there is. Smaller might be better.

The pandemic taught me I prefer to stockpile food. Not enough that the food goes bad or enough to start a bunker, but I like to have enough food to last a week or two without leaving the house. But one of my favorite things to do is go to the grocery store. Ideally I’d visit a grocery store twice a day. A house boat does not seem ideal for amassing food or accessing a grocery store. Maybe I can overcome this fear and this thing I love?

Oh yeah, I like to take regular showers and do laundry. How’s the water pressure on houseboats?

There’s no way this is a good idea with a wife and two small children. Could this be a good idea with a wife and two teenagers? No, right?

I guess I’ll go back to looking at cabins. Things would be better if I bought a cabin.
