What is this dinosaur?

Can you help me? Can anyone help me? Are you a paleontologist? What is this dinosaur?

If this sticker wasn’t 1 of 199 other dinosaur stickers, I would say it’s not a dinosaur. But it’s in a sticker pack of dinosaur stickers so I’m going to assume it’s a dinosaur.

This doesn’t look like any dinosaur I’ve seen in any of the recent dinosaur books our family has been perusing. We’ve been looking at a lot of dinosaur books. We’ve watched quite a bit of dinosaur related television programming too. This dinosaur is still a mystery.

This doesn’t appear to be any of the dinosaurs featured or even referenced in the 100 episodes of Dinosaur Train. Every dinosaur seems to be mentioned over 100 episodes of Dinosaur Train. I’ve seen all 100 episodes of Dinosaur Train an average of three times, some up to ten, and I can confidently report this dinosaur does not appear in Dinosaur Train.

The sticker description isn’t that helpful. It reads:

Over 200 multi-dimensional 3D puffy stickers with a variety of patterns Including Tyrannosaurus Rex,Tyrannosaurus,Velociraptor,Pterosaurs,Spinosaurus,Allosaurus,Stegosaurus, etc.

UPINS 14 Diffrent Sheets (200+Count) Kids Dinosaur 3D Puffy Stickers, Craft Scrapbooking for Childrens product description

This dinosaur must falls into the etc. category.

A quick perusal of comments on the Amazon product page reveals there’s no more information available about the 200 different dinosaurs.

Thanks, Karen.

Based on the 77 other reviews I read, no one else is bothered by this specific dinosaur. People seem to like the stickers, especially for potty training and birthday celebrations but some people ARE VERY UPSET BECAUSE THE STICKERS ARE SMALL! Another frequent complaint is the stickers don’t stick as long as some commenters would prefer, begging the question, how long do you want/need a puffy dinosaur sticker to stick? According to one comment some person used a hot glue gun to adhere these to his kid’s iPad case.

It kinda looks like the half cat created by Google Street View.

Am I just not seeing the head? Is this a Magic Eye style dinosaur?

Is it an Amargasaurus missing a head? From neck to tail it looks like an Amargasaurus but from everything I’ve read, Amargasaurus and every other dinosaurs had a head.

Or is this not a dinosaur but a mythical creature originally intended for a different sticker package? UPINS doesn’t offer any other sticker packages that this creature would possibly belong but who knows if the designer freelancers for another sticker line?

Or is this an intentionally placed, hidden nightmare meant to disturb children and fascinate parents?

Whatever it is, it worked. I’ve ordered another pack of these things. I’m just worried the sticker makers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.
