What is this?

Do you know what this is?

Is it part of a toy train set? I got a massive box full of two toy train sets off the neighborhood parents listserv (not Nextdoor, Nextdoor is racist) and this was in it but it doesn’t appear to be part of either train set I received.

It’s plastic. Does that help?

One of the sets is BRIO. BRIO is wood. It can’t be part of a BRIO set.

There’s a number on it. It’s 0887 16. 0887 is above 16.

I’ve Googled Image searched “0887 16 train” and “0887 16 chain” and “0887 16 train chain” and “0887 16 toy” and “0887 16 toy train” and a bunch of other “0887 16 [noun]” with no luck. The best result was “0887 16 toy” because it showed me this Morbius action figure.

Unfortunately, that action figure did not answer my question. The figure does not come with chains. It does come with extra arms.

The other train set is a Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set. There is no chain in the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set. I’ve looked at hundreds of photos from the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set and there’s no chain in the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set. See, here’s the inventory of the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set and there’s no chain.

See?

Did you look closely? Am I missing something? Is there a chain?

No, right? No chain. Right? Let’s look again just to be sure…

Yeah, no chain.

It’s not BRIO. It’s not part of the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set.

What is this? What is this for? Why can’t I throw it away.

Every other piece makes sense. If it’s not BRIO, it’s part of the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Treasure Chase Set. This is neither.

What is this? Why is it here? Can you help?
